Using databases

The Library Databases

  1. The Library's databases are online searchable collections of reliable, peer-reviewed information.
  2. Databases contain journal articles, eBooks, research reviews, case studies, images, photographs, visual materials, integrated content and much more!
  3. Subject areas include: Art, Design, Architecture, Fashion, Drawing, Textiles, DesignTheory, Criticism and much more! 
  4. Access via the Discovery Catalogue: https://ncadlibrary.on.worldcat.org/discovery

 

How to access the Library Databases: 

  1. Go to the Library Discovery Catalogue: https://ncadlibrary.on.worldcat.org/discovery
  2. Type in a keyword in the search bar and click search
  3. On the left hand side you can choose which database you would like search results from 
  4. After applying the specific database search filter, click "view full text" and you have access to an online view or downloadable pdf
  5. To note: (Materials Connexion is not available to access via the Discovery Catalogue. A separate OpenAthens login will be required to access this database. If you wish to use this database, please contact IT Support at: itsupport@ncad.ie
